Do Stay At Home Moms Need Life Insurance?

Should You Spend Money for Life Insurance for the Stay At Home Mom? I say yes. I think the biggest benefit for life insurance for SAHM’s is the peace of mind it provides. The cost of child care will probably the biggest expense the family will face. This is especially true if the spouse travels or works the night shift. Since the surviving spouse can not quit their job and stay home to take care of the kids, who will take the kids to lessons, sport’s practice and games, or even to the doctor or orthodontist? Will they need a housekeeper or maybe a weekly cleaning service? Life insurance could help take care of these expenses.

What about college expense? This is another consideration for life insurance. With the cost of college constantly rising, life insurance could help lift the burden of college expenses for the surviving spouse.

That’s my opinion, what’s yours?

Spending Confession for June 27th thru July 3rd

As in the past, I am joining Corrin at “Broke As A Spoke” admitting what I’m spending my money on each week. Luckily, I did do better this week. I did have to purchase a few more supplies to finish the deck and buy a new faucet for the laundry tub. Honestly, I was so busy working on the deck I didn’t have time to spend money. WOW, maybe that’s the secret!

Here is my spending for June 27th thru July 3rd.
Groceries $11.11
Dining Out $11.86
Gas $17.53
Deck supplies $23.27
Laundry tub faucet $39.16

Spending Confession for June 13th thru June 26th

Since I wasn’t able to post my spending last week I have combined the two weeks. I have to admit I have been spending money like crazy. I was on vacation in North Carolina then I went to Gatlinburg for four days. There are several things I always purchase in Gatlinburg that I can’t find at home. I bought Japanese Pink sauce (three bottles) and Lemon raspberry marmalade which is sooooo good. Since I have returned home I have been buying a lot of supplies to repair and stain a deck. Luckily the deck expenses don’t come around to often.

Here is my spending for June 13th thru June 26th.

Groceries $18.61
Dining Out $57.30
Gas $94.20
Pet $44.09 (This includes the additional cost at the hotel for my puppy and her visit to Doggywood while I went to Dollywood.)
Phone $37.69
Sanitation $14.56
Electric $65.83
Long Term Care Ins $170.28

Medical $61.13
Household Expense $71.53
Deck repair and stain $211.43
